About me
I am a graphic designer and visual artist based in western Canada. What I love about design is being able to improve the way the world is perceived, by optimizing the products and services we all interact with daily. Just like art, I am multifaceted and enjoy many creative outlets that allow individual and collective expression. My current practice is fuelled by community and connection, places and experiences that inspire and encourage presence.
Professionally, I have experience in remote work, editorial design, advertising and event signage production, art direction, camera assistance for photo and video,. Looking forward to expand my skills on web and products design. I learn fast and am eager to take on new roles. I am very adaptable and driven and thrive in collaborative environments as well as on my own.

Dear Hiring Manager,
I’m excited to apply for the position at your organization. With over three and a half years of experience in editorial media, marketing-focused design, and creative project coordination, I bring a unique combination of storytelling, visual communication, and relationship-building skills that support meaningful community engagement and organizational growth.
In my role as a Graphic Designer at Avenue Magazine, I’ve collaborated closely with editorial, sales, and marketing teams to produce content and campaigns that align with both audience interests and business objectives. This experience has strengthened my ability to manage multiple tasks, coordinate timelines, and deliver polished work in fast-paced environments. I’ve also contributed to branded initiatives that support partnerships and professional relationships—skills that translate directly to engagement and development work.
Beyond my design responsibilities, I’m deeply passionate about art, music, and culture, particularly in the context of community-building events. I’ve been involved in creative initiatives that bring people together—supporting event promotion, visual identity, and storytelling that fosters connection and participation. These experiences have shaped my interest in creative work, where building relationships and creating meaningful engagement opportunities are key.
I’m especially drawn to this role because it sits at the intersection of communication, organization, and community impact. I’m eager to contribute my strengths in coordination, creative strategy, and audience engagement to support fundraising initiatives, partnerships, campaigns, visual collateral, corporate identity and events that advance your organization’s mission, vision and values.
I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my background and enthusiasm for community-driven work can contribute to your team. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Sofia
